An enduring model for New Zealand wool
Wool Alliance is a collaboration between Wool Impact, Campaign for Wool New Zealand, Wool Research Organisation of New Zealand, and Beef and Lamb New Zealand.
Together, we’re building a new model to revitalise New Zealand’s strong wool sector.
Four industry organisations working under one, united Wool Alliance
The members of the Wool Alliance have signed a formal agreement to collaborate.
Our work will deliver an enduring wool industry model to increase returns to growers, rebuild demand for strong wool, and create a long-term strategy and structure to lead the wool sector into the future.
A future-focused wool model
The model has been developed to deliver better returns for our wool at farm-gate, while also ensuring it is:
Independent — pre-competitive and separate from commercial interests
Accountable — with transparent reporting to growers and stakeholders
Funded collectively — through a grower and industry contributions
Strategic — focused on delivering greater alignment and better returns
A connected strategy to increase grower returns
By aligning our vision and direction, the model will give the wool sector the connection, scale and strength it needs to thrive.
Have your say
In November 2025, the Wool Alliance will be conducting on online meeting to present the model, hear your views, and answer your questions.
Your voice is critical. Be part of shaping the future of our wool.
